Lovey
Lovey wants what she doesn't have, as do all girls and boys her age do. She has that perfect image in her head of exactly what she wants but can't get. She talks about being this person that she isn't and wanting something she knows she can't. She is not alone. Every child that age and older always wants what they can't have, there is always something. It is mostly the girls and boys that don't get the good lovin' at home and get no attention what so ever that focus more on other people then they do on themselves. So maybe Lovey doesn't get good lovin' at home from her family and she lacks the "self lovin'." She doesn't love what she has so she just dreams but where does that get her?

It's great that you pointed out the fact that children who may not get the "good lovin'" at home are the ones that lack the "self lovin'" I never thought about that while reading the story and writing the blog. And I agree that Lovey isn't alone, and that most children are on the same boat as her, wanting something they can't have.
ReplyDeletei agree with everything, mostly the part where you say that mostly all children her age think about other people. Maybe it is because of lack of attention or maybe because of them not having enough love or support. that's how kids build up self esteem and i think Lovey is a perfect examlpe for this.
ReplyDeleteno matter what you do, you will never be able to MAKE any one like you period. there are too many insecurities and fears preventing people from being who they really are. people think that if they act one way, they will receive a result. while this may be true, any act a person puts on is exhausting, insincere, and confusing. when you step back, you will realize all the relationships in your life are a facade. just be yourself no matter what and don't let the idea of meeting approval fog the relationship between you and yourself. learn to love yourself, and everyone who loves you will love you for who you are, and those are the only people worth being around. there is nothing in anyone else that makes them cooler, better, smarter, etc. it all comes from how you perceive yourself and not how others perceive you..... Salam-a-lecum
ReplyDeletei agree. i think the only way Lovey will be satified with life is if she learns to love herself.
ReplyDeleteya rite i like the what u wrote abt lovey wanting to be someone else which she knows that she cant be and also i like the part when u talked abt her family.
ReplyDeleteYup!Love and attention that they seldom get from their families.I think that these are the few reasons why people are not satisfied with who they are and what they have in life. They try to see themselves into somebody else's character because they don't really know who they are.
