Blog #3

Groups and clubs that are in schools should not be able to discriminate against others that wants to join even if they don't follow everything the group does and says, that's why there are clubs and groups off of school campus that are not school related, in example, church groups that have nothing to with universities should have more say in who they would like to not be there, but even then it's not right. Christians or Catholics or any other religion should have open arms to any one and everyone. The fact that Christian clubs on college campuses are rejecting and discriminating gays or people that don't practice, they obviously don't fully understand their religion. Since i went to catholic school for the first 9 years of school i learned that no matter what or who you are we always open our doors to anyone who is willing to learn and be apart of our churches, groups and clubs. To me it's almost disgusting that people care so much about what other people think and what they practice, no one should care about that stuff. We have freedom of speech so why not use it.

  1. I agree with what you are saying in your blog. I think that if the club is based at a school then it is making the school look very bad if the members of the club are denying people entry just because of their sexual orientation. I like how you brought a personal story into it to to justify your point. Great Job!

  2. I agree with Maddie i tihnk it made your paragraph a lot more convincing because you brought a true story into it, even if you hadnt done that i would totally know and agree what with youre saying about the whole religious group thing.

  3. I don't fully follow the religion or all the rules and it's nice to get a perspective on how ridiculous these people in the club are making themselves look. They obviously don't know enough about the religion to discriminate anyone. It makes the school look bad when their is bias and discrimination going on, wether in clubs or groups; it all puts the schools name at stake.
